Cairn House - Stepping Stones
The Cairn House at Stepping Stones of Dunn County, our recently designed emergency shelter, is the only one of its kind in Dunn County. Nestled beside the existing food pantry, this single-floor wood-framed structure stands as a testament to our commitment to community well-being.
With 20 sleeping rooms, each accompanied by a private bathroom, the shelter offers a sense of privacy and dignity to those seeking refuge. In addition to its fundamental sleeping quarters, the building features essential amenities such as a shelter laundry room, ensuring residents can maintain a sense of normalcy, and a staff laundry room to support the dedicated team behind the scenes.
The shelter includes a dining area, a staff break room, and a manager's office to foster a supportive environment. The fully equipped kitchen allows for nourishing meals to be prepared, while a resource room provides a space for residents to access essential information and services.
By situating the shelter in close proximity to the existing food pantry, the aim was to create a centralized hub of support for individuals facing crises. We are proud to contribute to the welfare of the Menomonie community through this vital emergency shelter.
